Ultra GelRed is a new fluorescent nucleic acid gel staining reagent that can replace ethidium bromide (EB). It has high sensitivity, low toxicity, and strong thermal stability. When using agarose gel electrophoresis to detect DNA, Ultra GelRed shows higher sensitivity to small amounts of DNA, especially small molecular weight DNA. DNA exhibits red fluorescence under ultraviolet light and can be used for staining of dsDNA, ssDNA and RNA in agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
